The cooperation just begin

On Friday, we held the 3rd meeting of the Local Democracy Hub, where citizens, representatives, and professional helpers participated in order to experience the possibilities of mutual cooperation along specific issues.

As a result of the program, common thinking began along 8 different issues in 6 municipalities. In the 1st district of Budapest, they would like to renew the civil tendering system by involving participation tools. In the 2nd district of Budapest, on one hand, they aimed at helping the condominium communities with the lowest level of democracy, on the other hand, they also want to start a community planning process by rethinking the traffic around the schools. In the 8th district of Budapest, a community planning project is also starting in connection with the transformation of a small square. In Ülő the aim is to reduce air and noise pollution caused by Industrial parks. In Szentendre, they want to solve an old traffic problem with the involvement of the residents of the area. There is a similar case in Nagytarcsa, but they are also working on reforming the local social ordinance. Perhaps this is where we have reached the furthest because the local council has already voted a budget of 15,000 USD for joint work with the NGO partner!
